Pastor: Rev. Dr. James W. Sinclair

Dear Friends

This newsletter contains important information regarding the life of our church through the end of 2012.

Of course you know about our Sunday activities that begin with adult choir rehearsal in the Ladies Parlor at 9:00 a.m., proceed to worship at 10:00 a.m. and then to fellowship time for a few minutes before we begin church school at 11:30 a.m.

Our youth will want to know about our exciting youth group that meets under the direction of our Associate Pastor, the Rev. Tali Jamir, on Saturdays from 4:00 to 6:00p.m. This year you might say that our youth group is "expanding." That is, in addition to meeting as the youth of First Baptist, they will meet with young people from other churches in the Samuel Stillman Association as well! The Samuel Stillman Association, to which we belong is our way of connecting with our larger regional American Baptist family known as the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, which, in turn, is our way of connecting with our denominational family known as the American Baptist Churches, USA.

Also, for those of you interested in serving our community through Bristol Lodge, you will want to know that the second Saturday of each month is a very important time. For, on that day of the month we meet in our kitchen to prepare a hot supper to bring to the Methodist church on Cherry Street, which serves people who are homeless. One o'clock is the time people begin to gather, and, as someone who has pitched in a few times, I can tell you that we have a lot of fun and are blessed by our serving.

Please look through the newsletter for other important activities in the life of our congregation. Hope to see you "there!"

By January 6, 2013, please send information for our next church newsletter to our wonderful Messenger Editor, Ms. Janet Orozco, at familyorozco@.rcn.com, and to the First Baptist Church, 400 Lexington Street, Waltham, MA 02452(email it to letters@fbc-waltham.org). The next edition of the Messenger will cover the period through Easter (March 31, 2013)

Thank you!

Jim
